Hrvatski Telekom (HT) has begun the process of separating assets of its passive mobile infrastructure into a wholly owned subsidiary, the company has said in an announcement to the Zagreb Stock Exchange.
At a session that took place on 28 February, HT's Supervisory Board has given the approval for the commencement of the procedure "in line with the growing EU trend of separating tower infrastructure into subsidiaries."
As previosuly reported by TowerXchange, HT had started evaluating a tower carve-out. Following the analysis, it has concluded that separation of passive mobile infrastructure assets and its transfer into a subsidiary specialised in infrastructure management would positively impact the operational efficiency of the HT Group.
The process is pending corporate approvals and is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2025.
HT which is majority-owned by Deutsche Telekom (53.5%) is the second DT subsidiary in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) to proceed with tower carve-outs, following Greek OTE’s announcement in early 2024.
At TowerXchange Meetup Europe 2025 in London, we'll discuss CEE towers and market dynamics, join us on 23-24 April to hear and learn more.
