Thursday 15 December - TowerXchange Asia telecom tower regulatory conference co-sponsored by IFC

  • This conference initiative has been designed to facilitate dissemination of knowledge as well as better understanding of the tower industry and infrastructure sharing regulatory policies in several Asian countries, and to support industry and government objectives related to the expansion of telecommunications and high speed broadband services across Asia Pacific countries. The expertise of governments and industry participants would be essential during this first gathering opportunity to network, to discuss common challenges, and to find pragmatic solutions that will enable the delivery of broadband services across Asia Pacific.  Some of the officials and tower industry attendees that have been invited are from the following countries: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, and Mongolia.

  • Tenzin Dolma Norbhu is a Lead ICT policy specialist and has worked extensively in the Asia Pacific region on ICT reforms and infrastructure related projects. While at the World Bank, her work focused on ICT sector reforms; broadband policy regulatory and investment issues; transformative use of ICT for public sector reforms and IT industry development. Tenzin also worked for the Royal Government of Bhutan in the communications sector in telecommunications operations, policy and planning and as head of the telecommunications regulatory agency.  She also worked in the private power and telecom sectors
