Italy: Iliad challenges TIM and Vodafone 5G network sharing deal 

Iliad has raised concerns with Italy’s anti-trust regulator regarding Telecom Italia (TIM) and Vodafone’s network sharing agreement governing 5G rollout. In July of last year, TIM and Vodafone agreed to combine their network of c. 22,100 towers into TIM’s towerco unit INWIT with Vodafone obtaining a share of INWIT in the process. The deal is still subject to final regulatory approvals. 

Regional: Vodafone to remove Huawei equipment from core network 

Vodafone has announced that it will remove all Huawei equipment from the core part of its network in a move which will cost Vodafone an estimated €200mn and take five years to complete.
